June Update 

Summer TNF:

    During the summer, since school is out, the one main event we host on a weekly basis is Summer TNF (Thursday Night Fellowship) every Thursday night at 7:30pm at Care Church in Richardson. It would be great for you to join us! This summer, we are going over a sermon series called "Maturity" as we want to lay the groundwork for our students and help them become more mature spiritually. We have noticed that once students get out of the normal school year "Focus routine", they drift into a spiritual lukewarmness and do not know how to pursue Jesus on their own. So far, the students' reception to this series has been great! They engage with the sermons and feel conviction at the statements that our pastors have prepared for them.     My role with Summer TNF this year has been Lead over the Apprentice Fundraisers and helping out with the AV during the service. We have three fundraisers planned to help the incoming Focus Apprentices with their own support raising for this school year. We have done a nacho bar nacho libre night, and are about to do a Texas Night themed fundraiser too. 

Ministry:

  During the summer, my time is focused more on donor relationships and meeting new donors, so during the fall I can be full time on campus. But, I am still meeting with students and keeping in touch with them. I am currently meeting with three students as we are studying FOJ (Focus on Jesus), our ten-week study of who Jesus is. It has been so great getting to meet with these guys, as they are so excited to dive into the Bible every week and learn more about our Lord. They come to our sessions having completed the homework, which is very rare, and ask great questions that show me they are really trying to wrestle with the teachings in scripture. 

    I also set up a Focus booth at the McKinney campus orientation as a way to show new students that there is a Christian ministry at Collin. I got five names and numbers of students who were so excited to see a ministry on campus! I pray they follow up and join us this fall. 

Prayer Requests:

    Please pray for Adriana and me to hit our fundraising goal. We are still a good ways away from being fully fundraised. If you know of anyone who might be interested in partnering with our mission to make and mature disciples at the college level, let me know. 

    Please pray for all the students who are going to Collin this Fall. That we can find and connect with the ones who are lonely and looking for a Christian community. That we can plant the seed of faith among those with rich soil. Many college students are lonely and have no idea of the need they have for Jesus.

Your donation allows us to be on campus full-time, spreading the word of the Lord to students who desperately need it. We get to become friends and mentors to these young adults who are seemingly wandering aimlessly through life with no real direction.
