Kevin Pike Ministry Blog #25
June Blog
Hey everyone! Since it is summertime, there is not as much going besides me fundraising for this next school year, but there still is some great things going on that I want to share with y'all! Let's dive in it!
TNF (Thursday Night Fellowship):
Even though school is out for the summer, TNF is still going on. Although, it is now with all the students that are in FOCUS from all the different campuses that we are planted at. We all meet at the Care Church in Richardson at 7:30pm. It is a load of fun and it is so cool getting to see students from all the campuses come together and worship the Lord as one.
Our sermon series this year is called Embracing Life. This series is directed towards getting our students to be more engaged and active with the events and the circumstances that they find themselves in. Something that we have been discussing with our staff about is the fact that students are becoming more anxious, more risk adverse, and more unwilling to grow out of their comfort zones. We want them to see that if you spend your life being too comfortable and staying within what you know, then life will be dull and not full of life. God brings difficulties into our lives to grow us and make us stronger people. If these students continue to choose not to go to events because they get anxious, they will lose the opportunity to meet life long friends. If they choose to take the easiest classes and not do any internships, they will not get the work experience that companies are looking for. If students stay home and continue to spend 6-7 hours online everyday, then they will miss the path that God wants for them. We want them to see that every person that God used in the Bible had to make a choice to leave their familiar settings and trust God in doing something that was much bigger than themselves, and in the end they helped God redeem the world and continue to do so. This series is something that we are very excited about and here is the link to the previous sermons so far on Spotify if y'all want to check them out yourselves:

Ministry Update:
Something that I have started for the summer is Waffle House Wednesdays. Every other week, we invite all the men that are staying at Collin for this next year to come and hangout at Waffle House. That has been super fun to get to connect with the guys and make sure they still have community ties over the summer. Plus who doesn't want to get Waffle House at 9pm on a Wednesday night?
I am still continuing my one on one Bible studies throughout the summer. I have three of those going on. They are going great! I am so thankful to be studying the Bible with such thoughtful, intelligent, and Godly young men. They continue to blow me away with how consistent and wise they are. They are for sure more equipped and knowledgeable than I was at their age. I am also creating a Bible study with other three guys soon so I can get to know them more and also get them to hangout with each other. We call them 242 groups as we are trying to mirror the community that is described in Acts 2:42-47. All in all, it has been going great!
Thank You:
I am always so blown away by your unwavering generosity and support of our ministry. Your donations have made a significant impact, allowing us to continue fostering a nurturing environment where students can grow in their faith and build a strong sense of community. Your kindness and commitment to our mission are truly inspiring, and we are profoundly grateful for your belief in the work we do. Thank you for being a vital part of our journey and for helping us to spread the message of the gospel to the students of Collin College. May God bless you!
P.S. Here is a student testimony from one of our students from TWU. Your support helps students like her.
