December Update

    Hello everyone! The weather is getting colder, the jolly times are just are the corner and the Hallmark movies aren't losing their charm and getting any older. I hope you all get to have a Merry Christmas and celebrate the Lord's birth! Here is what happened this month with ministry at Collin College.

TNF (Thursday Night Fellowship):

    We had our Christmas end of the year party which was so much fun. We served them spaghetti and meatballs, in honor of the Elf movie as he likes to eat dessert spaghetti, and played a lot of fun games together. It was a great way to end the year and send off the students for the semester. Here are some pictures from the event:

    


CORE: 

    The semester ended off well for our small groups. I mentioned in a blog a couple of months ago that our small group attendance and consistency was shaky at best which was discouraging. This was because some of our students often did not show up due to school being busy or work getting in the way. This made it hard to have a consistent group of guys show up and create a culture of friendship and familiarity. But things have changed this last month! Due to more outreach efforts on campus, my co-leader and I were able to bring in some students who were hungry from Jesus and community. They showed up to our small group every week and also were active participants during the study. Asking questions and responding to the comments of others. My co-leader Mick and I are blessed to have these guys in our group and have been deeply encouraged by them. Here are some pictures from both of our Monday and Wednesday small groups plus one with a student named Omar after we completed our FOJ study:



Prayer Requests:

    Our students have a long break, I ask you to pray that they use it well. Not to fill all their free time up with video games, tik tok, social media, etc. Pray that they use some of their time to read scripture and keep up with friends.

 January Blog      Hello everyone! Hope your 2025 is going so spectacular, Keep those new years resolutions up and running, I believe in you. This year is going to be a great one because we've already had a fantastic start, lets jump into it! Winter Retreat      Every year we host our much anticipated Winter Retreat the weekend before school starts and this year we had our biggest turn out yet. 700 students from our campuses around the DFW area came to spend a weekend seeking out Jesus and friendships. I had about ten guys from my small group come to the retreat and they have not stopped talking about it since.      The sermons were all centered on the topic of, "Who is Jesus?" Our director, Brandon Worscham, started the weekend off with telling us three stories about Jesus and what they said about his character. May Blog  Hello everyone! Summer is here—get ready for the heat! I hope you enjoyed the rain while it lasted. As May wraps up, I’m excited to share how God has been working in our ministry this month. It’s been an incredible time for both our staff and students! SICM (Student Institute of Campus Ministry)      Every year, we take students with leadership potential to a week-long conference in Bellingham, Washington called SICM. There, they receive training in ministry and evangelism so they can return to their campuses in the fall equipped to be ambassadors for Christ. We partner with a ministry called CCF—essentially the FOCUS of Bellingham—whose staff generously shares their 40+ years of ministry wisdom throughout the week.      Each day includes three sessions designed to grow students as spiritual leaders.
