July Update

Hey everyone! Hope you had a fantastic 4th of July! Superman and Fantastic Four are out in theaters right now, summer is in full swing! We had a lot of great things happen this month, let's jump right in!

ACTIVATE:

ACTIVATE is a new program that we started that serves as a SICM refresher course for all of our students who we are considering to become leaders. SICM was our leadership conference that we sent all of our students to this past May, ACTIVATE is for all the students who went to SICM at anytime and want a reminder of all the information that was taught there. This is a weekend long seminar that goes over topics like; Spiritual Disciplines, Inductive Bible Studies, How to Evangelize on Campus, How to Lead a Small Group, etc. It was great to see some familiar faces. I got to lead a session with one of my coworkers on a "Prayer Workshop". We taught the students what prayer is, why we should do it, and some prayer exercises that they can do throughout the year. We believe that without prayer, there is nothing that we can do on our own. John 15:5-8

5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples."

If the students are wanting to make a difference on campus this year and point people to Jesus, they have to remain in Jesus and create a relationship with Him. It is not through our own works, only through God's.

We had a blast hanging out with the students and it was so great getting to see them spend their weekend wanting to learn more about God. Here are some pictures from the event:

Baptism:

I had the honor of getting to baptize one of my students, Given Sampat, that I have been meeting up with this past year and doing a Bible study with! He is such an avid learner of the scriptures, super curious, and a great leader. We sent him to SICM this past year and we are excited to have him be a student leader this year at Collin. I am very proud of him and it was really special. Here are some pictures from the baptism:

Ministry Update:

We are getting ready for the new school year! Our team has been interviewing students to become our new Corefas (Core facilitators a.k.a. student leaders) and it has been going great! All the guys and girls that we have asked to join our team are really great students. I am excited to see where the Lord takes them this year. We are going to be planning for Collin's Welcome Week pretty soon as well. Next blog update will show you all how that week went and I can already tell its going to be great :)

Prayer Requests:

If you could be praying for Welcome Week coming up. That the Lord prepares these students heart to be open so that when they come onto campus they are curious to come check us out and be open to talking about Jesus. Pray for all of our returning students and student leaders, that they have a great year ahead of them. Also pray for our staff, that we are energized, rested, and abiding in the Lord so that we can have a fruitful year.

Thank You:

Thank you so much for your generosity—it’s truly a blessing to this ministry and to the students at Collin College. Because of your giving, lives are being changed through the love of Jesus, and students are finding hope, purpose, and community. Your support is a powerful act of faith that continues to bless these students as they continue their journey in college. You are impacting these students in a huge way!

P.S.
Here is a testimony from one the students from SMU. Your giving helps support students like her find a mentor and community that will guide her to know Jesus.
