May Blog Update

    Hey everyone! Summer is here, time for the beach, getting dip n dots, and seeing family! I have a lot of good news to share so lets jump in the pool!

SICM:

    Every year we take our students who we believe to have leadership potential on a week long conference in Bellingham, Washington to teach them valuable ministry and evangelism skills so they can come back to their college in the Fall and be an ambassador for Christ anywhere they go. We partner with another campus ministry called CCF, which is like the FOCUS of Bellingham, whose staff takes the week to teach them the wisdom of campus ministry that they have learned over their 40+ years of ministry experience in Washington. It is such a fun and amazing experience for these students to have!

    Most of the days would consist of three sessions that are aimed at developing skills to teach the students about what it means to be a spiritual leader on campus. The rest of the night is free time with the host families and playing sports during our lunch break.

    This year we brought 150 students from our family of colleges to SICM! That is the largest group we have ever taken! It really shows how God is working in the college campuses. These students are hungry for getting to know God and wanting to pursue their faith. We specifically had around 20 students from Collin which is awesome! We are excited to see how they apply what they have learned during these sessions.

Fundraising Update:

    Now that it is summer, most of our staff's attention is now put into fundraising for the next school year so that we can completely focus our time on our ministry during the school year. I am 80% of the way to my goal this year already which is a huge blessing! I am still looking for 8 more people to support me at $50 a month to reach my goal. If you know of anyone who would be interested in hearing about campus ministry or has connections to people or churches that are looking to support someone, I would love to ask them the opportunity to join our mission of bringing the gospel to college campuses!
