Two Months In Hey everyone! It has been a while since I last posted, I finally figured out how to schedule my time efficiently and will be posting these blogs monthly at a consistent pace.  Co-leading small group on Tuesday nights is one of the highlights of my week. I had to switch to help lead another group at the Frisco campus instead of the Plano campus because Frisco needed another staff person to help outreach and also lead a Core. But, I was blessed to join and help lead a wonderful group of guys that are so engaged and consistent with being on fire for God. There are not many places in our world where we can read scripture, share our life stories, and talk about meaningful topics. It really feels like we are more than just a group of guys that meet up once a week then never hangout again. Throughout the week we play volleyball, go out to eat, and see each other at TNF (Thursday night worship). I am so thankful for each and every one of them! Here is our amazing group, a cou...

The Week After Welcome Week  Hey everyone! Thank you for all of your support, this latest week has been filled with many blessings!  We had our first small group this past Sunday night, which we call CORE. I am very thankful to have two other co-leaders that lead it with me. They are so eager to lead our group and create friendships with these guys. This is a picture of our first CORE at a park with a turtle we found. There was only one guy who showed up to our CORE, which at first was a bummer to me. Mainly because it was the first CORE the two other guys were leading but it also made me think my efforts during welcome week were for nothing. But, we quickly realized that God had given us this guy for a specific reason. He had been questioning a lot of his faith and did not know what to think about Jesus. We slowly uncovered some of the doubts that he had and we were able to share our testimony of how Jesus has changed our lives for the better. By the end of the night, ...

Welcome Week!  Hey Y'all! Thank you all so much for your support! This past week has been so wonderful in so many ways!  All of the Collin College campuses started their classes on the 22nd, which is also their welcome week. We believe this is the best time to outreach to students as for many of them, this is their first time on campus and they probably do not have any friends. So, for the past seven days, we have been hosting events to try to welcome them on campus and plug them into community. I was quite surprised by how many students were willing to talk and join in on the activities we were hosting. This was the schedule we were following for this past week: On Monday, we did "Bad Tattoos" which was the biggest hit among the students. Here are some body marker stencil/temporary tattoos that we went through: This was a great way to get the students to take a break from their first day jitters and just hangout. Drawing on their arms, sometimes their face, made most of ...

The Genesis of My Apprenticeship Hello! Thank you all so much for wanting to support me and my ministry this year! This is the first blog post of my apprenticeship and I am very thankful to have y’all with me as I start my journey in ministry. You all have truly been a blessing to me and I will definitely need all the prayers that I can get!  When the apprenticeship started, we hit the ground running. Since our schools have not started yet, we have been focusing on classwork regarding our Old Testament (OT) class. The first week we have read the first five books of the OT, listened to graduate level lectures, and read a textbook to further increase our knowledge about the God we serve. We have been studying for 7-8 hours each day, learning as much as possible.  Being able to read entire books of the Bible in one sitting, compared to normally reading a couple chapters at a time, has truly illuminated certain aspects of the Bible that I have not seen or thought about before. One...
